Who We Are

AFRICHEL, the African Center for Health Equity and Literacy, is a pan-African nonprofit founded in Ghana by nurses, public health officers, and researchers. We build the knowledge and confidence people need to protect their health in markets, schools, neighbourhoods, and homes.

Activities

Through mentorship, skills development, and access to professional networks, AFRICHEL helps young people and volunteers build confidence, discover opportunities, and prepare for meaningful work in health, education, and social impact.

We promote healthier mothers, children, and families. Our activities focus on health education, community sensitization, basic prevention messages, and connecting families with helpful information so they can make informed decisions about maternal and child wellbeing.

We create safe spaces for mental health awareness and support, encourage open conversations, reduce stigma, and share practical resources that help people seek help early and care for one another with dignity.

We work toward stronger, more resilient communities. Our wellbeing activities bring together education, volunteer service, advocacy, and community outreach to support vulnerable people and encourage healthier, safer, and more inclusive everyday lives.

Free community health education, blood pressure and blood sugar screening, counselling, and referral help people find risks early.
